Topic: Make a Garden to Attract Butterflies

Description: Discover the joy of growing a hummingbird and butterfly friendly garden. Master Gardener Marcia Van Loy will lead you through the steps to create a beautiful, healthy and thriving nature wonderland. Discussed will be benefits to your garden, the types of plants and habitat that provide food sources and shelter, and ways to keep the environment safe for these creatures. Reference material will be provided.

Speaker: Master Gardener, Marcia Van Loy, is presenting.

Attracting birds, hummingbirds and butterflies is one of the most rewarding activities to enjoy in your garden.  Master Gardener Marcia Van Loy will lead you through the steps to create a beautiful, healthy and thriving nature wonderland.  Discussed will be benefits to your garden, the types of plants and habitat that provide food sources and shelter, and ways to keep the environment safe for these creatures. Reference material will be provided.

Marcia Van Loy has been a volunteer with the Master Gardener Association for 13 years.  She has gardened for over 30 years in the Clairemont area of San Diego. Her garden is a Certified Wildlife Habitat and was featured in the San Diego Home and Garden Magazine’s April 2013 edition.

To be held rain or shine.

  • Closed-toe shoes are REQUIRED
